Maths of SCUBA diving

Alongside the Maths Calendar I've created and releasing monthly I'll also be trying to promote mathematics through the use of my other favourite hobby - SCUBA diving.

I'll try and compile an area of SCUBA diving alongside with a relevant area of mathematics in the National Curriculum.

This week I've started with a nice gas law called Dalton's Law - it requires a bit of understanding of how pressure in BAR increases with depth underwater. (I'll release something on this at a later point). But this could be a nice research topic for yourself and your class - maybe even come up with a formula relating depth to BAR.
